The Journey Of Motherhood

Motherhood and pursuing a career often form a complex puzzle for many women. In a world where professional ambitions and family responsibilities intersect, women face unique challenges and opportunities.

With Mother's Day approaching, it's a beautiful moment to reflect on how motherhood and work go hand in hand. At Grant Thornton, we take pride in the mothers who are part of our team. We recognize the unique challenges they encounter and support them in their pursuit of a successful work-life balance.

In this article, we are delighted to share the inspiring story of our colleague from the Tax Compliance department, Annastacia Recappé. She is a shining example of how women can successfully combine motherhood, education, and a flourishing career.

‘’Hi all, my name is Annastacia Recappé. I am married, a mother of 2 wonderful boys and a second-year student of Business Administration. I started to work at the age of 19 in various places, mostly finance related and have been working ever since. I am not someone that can stay still for longer than 5 minutes. I am not a workaholic, but I do like to keep busy.

Being a mother, full-time student and working full-time is very challenging. Most days I’m not sure what I’m doing, all I know is I must do my utmost to accomplish all the tasks for the day. One of the things that keeps me sane is my weekly work-out sessions. I try to train at least two to three times a week, which does wonders for my mental health. My kids are at the age where they need a lot of attention with their schoolwork and extracurricular activities, which can really drain me after a working day. But if I attempt this after I have reloaded at the gym, I feel much more equipped to handle the second part of my day. I always try to finish my day with a good book, which gives me peace of mind after a long day of tackling the world.

I must conclude with the fact that there are no perfect mothers, but as longs as you do the best you can and are able to witness the smile on your children’s faces each day, I believe that you are that much closer to a perfect feeling of happiness.’’

To all the mothers out there juggling multiple roles and responsibilities, remember that perfection isn't the goal, doing your best each day and witnessing the smiles on your children's faces are what truly matter.

Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms!
